Folks,
I'm having a hell of a time with this card (DWL-520) -- It was supposed to work considering it's a Prism2 ou Prims2.5 linke... Am I wrong?
Is there anything to be setup?
Angilberto.

It is prism2.5, but it is not a PCMCIA card. It is actually a miniPCI connected to a full size PCI carrier. The driver is WAY different and will take some time to work out.

Oh, God... I'm definitly out of luck -- 2 ISA-PCMCIA cards, D-link miniPCI...

Thankx anyway.
Angilberto.

We will investigate a solution for your two ISA adaptors.

As Lonnie mentioned we do not have PCI Wireless support in the current builds, however we are working on including support for the DWL-520, and Linksys WMP11. We are still in the development phase for this specific driver, but it is in the works.

Thanks!

Ok, Folks -- I'm standing by and hopping for the best... :D

what is the difference between pci and minipci? I thought the differences were only physical?

There are no real differences.

I came on here trying to find out why my DWL-520 didnt work, well guess I know why now. Do you have a recommendation for a cheap PCI card that is not an adapter for PCMCIA card?. I havent had any luck with PCI adapters at all.

Try Avaya Communicators PCMCIA Adapters. They seem to work well for us.

just in case someone reads this subsequently ....

I have 3 x DWL-520 cards - they are Prism 2.5 and work flawlessly

However, the DWL-520 PLUS is not Prism Chipset but (IIRC) "Amstel" ?
(which is a brand of beer to me ! :D )

I cannot confirm whether the PLUS work as clients but they will not work as AP's - the feature is not in the chipset .

http://support.dlink.com/products/dwl520.asp

This link shows the 3 versions of DWL-520. We have support for the A & B version. The C version is using the ADMTek chipset and we have no support for it.

Any of the DLink cards that add a "+" are not supported.

Lonnie, of the three versions of the DWL-520, which one is being shipped by vendors? I'd really like to use those cards for radios with your software, but I don't want to buy them and find out that what's shipping these days is Rev C1!

Most of the vendors appear to be shipping the C1 version at this point, even though they continue to show the photo of the A or B series.
