1.12.5 works ok
1.13.1 worked ok, then keyboard stuck
reinstalled 1.13.1
no keyboard
reset bios
no keyboard
took pc battery out
swapped keyboards
turned off everything in bios
took out all nic's and wl cards
no keyboard
reinstalled 1.12.5 keyboard works
reinstalled 1.13.1 no keyboard
The keyboard worked under 1.13.1, then I rebooted and lost it.
Above steps didn't help.
Amd 500mhz k6
soyo mb
256k ram
6mb fujitsu hd
1.44 floppy
award bios
keyboard works for bios setup
keyboard works for StarOs install
keyboard quits when 1.13.1 loads
when prompt displays, keyboard is dead
Once again, 1.12.5 works great.
Any ideas?
Thank you for the report.

I had the same problem. I think its the soyo mobo.
i have:
350Mhz AMD k6-2 processor
soyo mobo
128 Ram
10gig hd
I dont know about the other guy but
my computer beeps and pauses 2 times during startup.
one time during the CBQ,NAT, etc settings..
and the other when it searches from PCMCIA cards.. it hangs for like 1 1/2 secs...
I loose my keyboard somewhere during the Extended Services section during startup...

I've seen similar problems in the past. The original AT motherboard design had the keyboard controller also controlling an address line. I seem to recall the keyboard controller would stop working about the time the address line was initialized.
I never fully understood why they did this. It is not a fast way to control the address line, it would have been faster to use logic gates rather than the slow keyboard microcontroller. But then the design of the PC was a complete hack job from day 1.
Look in your bios settings and see if you have something that refers to A20. If it is on, turn it off... if it is off, turn it on.
Also try the USB port settings at the same time. I know A20 emulation can influence the operation of USB keyboards, so there is some interaction there.
Of course USB keyboards can't be used with StarOS.

Looks like it is post 1.12.6.
Loaded the beta on an old compaq, 4 nics & 2 pcmcia everything works.
It must be the SOYO motherboard.
I'll mark those off my list.
There will be a new BETA out this afternoon that may solve the keyboard problem.
Thanks!
Does the release v1.13.1 work better than the BETA in regards to your keyboard problem?
Thanks!
