This has been going on for a while. And it is no suprise.
When I buy a megabit of bandwidth for $700, and then sell $29 high-speed access... I only sold the access, not every packet that can be pulled across it. My broadband customers get a product similar to Road Runner, but neither they nor the road runner users have actually paid for all of the bandwidth available.
I am shocked at the Boardwatch slant, with their analyst saying people should get to use the bandwidth they pay for... The $29 RoadRunner user with a 2 megabit pipe has NOT paid for 2 megabits of bandwidth, they have only paid for a tiny part of the bandwidth. It's just plain stealing.
When I sell a T1 for $349, I allow sharing, but in an above-board supervised manner... It's all about being honest with your vendor.
