Interesting looking box... where did you buy the enclosure?

How is the power fed to this unit? Looks nice.

In the pic of the open box, the circuit on the left wall is the power supply, probably a 12v ATX power supply.

By the way... are the cable ties holding the box to the tower UV stable?

All of the UV stable wireties I get are black... yours are "natural" which means they will rot after a few months in the sun, and the box will fall...

look towards the top of the box, the gray cable coming in the bottom left connects to a voltage regulator at the top. It's a TI p/n PT5071 step-up/step-down converter, will convert from 7 to 16v to 12v regulated, for the atx12v PS. The wire coming up is 100 feet of 16guage, with a 15v toshiba laptop power supply and a marine trolling battery connected to it at the base. This is planned to be a solar powered site, but for now it's not. The amp is temporary, until(if) lucent corrects their firmware. Also on the inside of the lid is one of those plastic expansion card holder(for the really long cards) from an old 386 computer, that lines up with the PCI card inside the box to keep it in place. Nope, cable ties aren't UV stable, but they were all I had with me at the time. I planned to use hose clamps, but the feet wouldn't line up properly.

Really interested to find out where the regulator came from.
Just did a heap of looking and it didn't show up anywhere.

Remember - Google is your friend. I popped in PT5071 and up it came as the very first item.

Ya don't supposed that I didn't find it because I kept putting a space between the PT and the rest of the number, do ya ?

That PT6304 looks awefull good with a 24V supply to run the C3 /733 DC boards.. Looks like that is my best route to go POE hardware wise for awhile.
--------------------
I just noticed that is a 1000 piece price.
Time for more research.

Thanks for the ribbin "at least I know you are there".

digikey has them in single quantities for $16.94, they're a little steep, but I like them because they work well and they're switchers, so they're quite a bit more efficient than linear regulators.

Thanks for the tip dkii,
I would only use them for POE routers so I would be able to run off a battery and float charger in remote areas where the power is up and down all the time.
Thanks again,

What's wrong with lucents firmware that requires a temp amp?
Nice setup, is the box metal or plastic?
