Can someone give me a example of what cool things you can do with this, and how? Right now we have it disabled on our APs, but I have two customers who work together doing web design. They are both on the same sector. Would it be possible for them to send files back and forth between eachother through the AP, without having to go through our backhaul to our DNS server, etc...
right now they use Yahoo Messenger/AOL IM, etc to transfer files. I was just wondering if it is possible to keep it transferred without going out to the internet.

As long as you have routing set up, if I understand routing correctly, then if they are on the same subnet, the data will never leave that AP.

So what kind of PTP file transfer system would they be using? I asked the sys adm if programs like yahoo messenger and aol IM are PTP, and he said the files have to transfer to their servers thus go out on the internet.

they could use irc and DCC the files to each other

they could netbios it to. eg: \\192.168.43.6\c using basic windows file shareing

Also i'm pretty sure that once the file connection is established with aim/yahoo, then the connection is point to point. I think the server is only used to establish the connection, but I could be wrong.
