Guys,

I am just putting the finishing touches to making a live Internet exchange in the UK with direct presence in both London and New York. From November we are essentially a tier one provider. Potentially this puts us in an interesting position.

What has been going through my mind is our ability to create a trunked vlan and provide individual tagged vlans to you guys. This would give a single LAN with any participating staros network connected to it.

We are also a ripe registry with vendor-independent IP ranges and could create a global staros only range if required, allocating public ranges to the backbone.

If we could do this, and implement radius centrally for example, you could roam globally on any participating staros network. In addition, we could provide Internet bandwidth centrally and facilitate peering between networks.

There are obvious billing implications etc. but what do you think in principle?

Is this any use or a crazy idea?
